Introduction

About Me

Picture
Hello my name is Tina Huynh. I'm currently a sophomore at Garden Grove High School. Freshman year wasn't all that great because I didn't really get involved much. My daily routine was just "go to school and come home to work on my homework, or study". I really wanted to join a sport such as basketball, but I didn't really have that much time since the practices are usually after school. I have extra classes after school so I had to place playing sports aside. It's kind of weird though because I usually set my mind on doing certain things and I eventually do it, but since I didn't have the time I didn't get to do anything that I set my mind to. Since I'm free after school this year, I plan to join a sport and get more involved. When I say get involved I meant joining clubs, such as, Viet Club and attend school events, such as the "Unity Festival". Some people said it was fun and others boring, but I'd like to see if it's good or not myself.
This summer, instead of sitting at home and do nothing like I did in the previous summers, I decided to  attend an R.O.P class. My first choice was  R.O.P Digital Photography, but it was full so I chose R.O.P Graphic Design instead. Before I came here I didn't really know that much about computers, or the types of different apps that are used in order to make designs for certain products, etc. I really love Adobe Photoshop and was glad that Mrs.Nguyen extended the length of this section. I didn't really expect to have field trips in this class either, but so far we had two, "UCI" and "Huntington Beach". This class is coming to an end, but I'll probably take this class again next summer. If not, I'll take R.O.P Digital Photography.

Sports

I'm not really an active person, but I love to play sports. Whenever I have spare time, I go out with my friends and play basketball. The games get aggressive at times, but it's fun. My second favorite sport is tennis. Whenever I serve, it gets out of bound....it's probably because I hit too hard. I haven't been serving that hard lately so it's good. My other favorite sport is swimming!   I wasn't really fond of swimming because I drowned before. I finally overcame my fear and swam for 5 hours straight!so happy! During sophomore year I'm going to join more sports such as basketball. I missed the summer league, but that's alright, not the end of the world. Then I'll probably join volleyball after that since basketball is only first semester. Volleyball isn't one of my favorite sports, but since I'm not that good at it, I might as well try to improve.

My Hobbies

Picture
I record myself singing when I have time. Sometimes me and my friends feature together in a song. When we're done recording,we post it onto http://facebook.com ,http://nhaccuatui.com,http://youtube.com,or http://yeucahat.com.We're not really good or really bad, but a lot of people like our songs/covers that we do. My other hobby is making paper origami. My first inspiration was my aunt because everyday, she makes me a string of stars, cranes, and even a panda. I still have them even though they're about 10 years old. I try to take really good care of them so they're still good as new. I'm still learning the basics of origami so I'm not an expert yet.

Favorite  Dance Crew

Picture
My favorite dance crew is of course POREOTICS! As a majority of us know, Poreotics won season 5 on ABDC , America's Best Dance Crew. They made a comeback in season 6 a couple months ago. What I like about them is that they show passion when they dance. One of the members, Can Nguyen attended Garden Grove High School. One of our seniors from class of ' 11 named Tim Kieu (Timothy) knew him. They also performed at our school in 2010 for the school festival. Couldn't believe that I missed that! Well yea, I hope that they'll come back, or I'll probably come to their next performance. I kind of started dancing because of Poreotics. They're an inspiration to me. Go Poreotics! Keep showing your passion in dance. Don't let critisizm bring you down.

My Goals

Picture
My goal, or I should say goals, is to basically finish the two books that are required for sophomore year. Their names are "The Beans Tree-Barbara Kingsolver" and "1984-George Orwell". I'm almost done with "The Beans Trees", I just need 2-3 more chapters. "1984" looks kind of boring, but you can't judge a book by its' cover so might as well try it. Plus I don't want to get an F in English next year. Starting next year, I'll try to get more A's then B's because I want to get into UCLA, UCBerkeley, or other top universities. Over the years, getting into a university has gotten very difficult. So I'll have to try super hard.  Hope that I'll achieve these goals. No wait, I will achieve these goals. Gotta be more confident if I want to achieve my short/life-long goals.

Music

Picture
My passion is basically music. The genre that I've been obsessed with lately is RnB. It all started out when I saw my friend c-walking (crip walk). It looked awesome and I wanted to try. I'm basically into the song more than the dance. In my opinion, RnB songs from 2008-2010 are way better than 2011. I don't really like songs that involve drugs are sexual stuff. That completely ruins the whole song for me. I usually don't really pay attention to the lyrics, just  the music in the background, but I tend to catch onto things rather quickly. So the songs that I basically listen to are from 2008-2010. I <3 RnB!:")
